From problem analysis, design, and project management through install and maintenance, Harrison can keep the mine lit and running under the most demanding conditions.

Harrison Industrial is fully capable and trained to work underground.  At New Afton, BC’s newest underground mine, we built and wired the 138KV substation on the surface, the Gyro crusher 3 kilometers underground, all the surface and underground fiber optic, and everything electric between. As part of the project and in keeping with our unwavering commitment to safety, our project team managed the lock-out program for the entire construction group, including all third-party contractors. At the peak of the project we had 60 electricians working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we are proud to be able to say that in all those hours we had zero lost-time incidents. 

In the toughest underground conditions we integrated seamlessly with the other contractors and never missed a deadline.  At the end of the project we turned over a complete, turnkey electrical  system including a professional QA/QC package.

Harrison Industrial has been providing electrical services for Highland Valley Copper for the past 18 years and has been called upon to help in the design, budgetary analysis, and implementation of complex projects under extremely tight schedules.

Our employees’ deep experience at the Highland Valley site and our adaptable crew size makes our work at Highland Valley both time- and cost-efficient. As safety and efficiency go hand in hand, Harrison Industrial works with the BC mines inspector to ensure that all installations are compliant with the Mines Act, the Electrical Safety Branch, and Worksafe BC. We are committed to a safe work atmosphere regardless of the project’s complexity or its time or budget constraints.

Harrison Industrial has provided Highland Valley with multiple 138KV substation upgrades, SF6 breaker installations, system grounding upgrades, and a main rock crusher move, along with a wide array of smaller upgrades and installations. Most recently, we completed Booster 2 construction, including 138KV substation, 5KV switchgear installation, and lighting and control wiring along with complete commissioning package. We expect to put our experience in building wiring, fibre optic installations and testing, data highway installations and testing, and page-talk installations and testing in the near future
